Vědecká práce:

Disertační téma:
Three essays on energy sector and labor market interactions

Disertační teze:
Countries in the EU committed to decrease their greenhouse gases emissions, usage of fossil fuels and take advantage of renewable energy sources. Thus, the renewable sources will play a more important role in the energy mix over the upcoming decades. However, the energy sector transformation affects all the remaining economic sectors including the labor market. The implementation of DSGE models for modeling energy policies is only developing area of research. Their benefit lies in the dynamical aspect and the possibility to capture the presence of random shocks permitting to forecast macroeconomic aggregates and track cyclical effects of policies. The first part will compare the already occurred energy sector transformation across the EU member states and a cointegration analysis will be conducted in order to investigate the suggested empirical relationships between the energy and labor markets. The second part will formulate a suitable energy sector and labor market model able to capture the structural changes in the labor market related to changes in the energy mix. The third part will be devoted to building a SOE DSGE model with fiscal block and incorporating the labor market and the energy sector. An emphasis will be placed on quantifying the effects of various energy policies on the economy and particularly on the labor market development.
