Impact of regulatory sanctions on the behavior of investors

Dissertation topic:
The goal of this dissertation is first to describe how the French sanction procedure works and was amended, what the AMF’s powers consist of and how they were reinforced along more than a decade-long history. It will also contribute to better understanding the financial market efficiency hypothesis by analyzing the reactions following such sanctions. It aims at undertaking an assessment of markets and investors’ reactions to a 13-year long history of sanctions, before a new set of rules starts to apply. It will first focus on the most frequently sanctioned population, listed companies, and possibly extend the analysis to asset management firms.
