Interaction between banks and financial markets

Disertation abstract:
During my postgraduate studies I would like to undertake research in the field of the banking sector and its connection to financial markets, including possible contagion between these two financial segments. First of all, I plan to extend the research undertaken in my diploma thesis. I will be mainly focusing on the behavior of banks in the interbank market, the determinants of their decision making about lending in this market, the role of the market microstructure and its implication for a smooth functioning of the interbank market.
