We cordially invite you to the public lecture of Karel Musil:
Forecasting and Policy Analysis System at the Czech National Bank with special focus on the g3+ model.
The lecture will take place on Thursday 11 November 2021 from 5PM online. The lecture is organised as a part of JEM184 New Keynesian DSGE Modelling course but is open to all students and faculty members.
About the lecturer: Karel Musil graduated from the Centre for Economic Research and Graduate Education (CERGE) at Charles University, the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University and the Brno International Business School. He has a PhD in economic policy from Masaryk University in Brno. He joined the CNB as a macroeconomic modelling and forecasting expert in 2007. In 2009–2015 he worked at OGResearch, where he headed a team focusing on the development and application of macroeconomic models. As a representative of the International Monetary Fund, he was then involved in the transition from a fixed exchange rate regime to inflation targeting in Kazakhstan. Since September 2015 he has worked in the CNB’s Macroeconomic Forecasting Division, becoming its director in 2017.
