| Abstract: | This book proves that foundations have been a vital part of social and cultural background of the Czech society ever since the Middle Ages as well as being one the main ways how to express and realize the concept of mutual human solidarity. The foundations were active in a large field spectrum and all the social classes were involved, therefore the foundations could carry out an unlimited number of purposes. The book follows three main goals: to provide a comprehensive image of the part that the foundations played within a legislative structure in a given historical period, show what patterns or stereotypes the founders or the patrons followed, where did they get their inspirations and lastly provide an answer to the question to which extent were they influenced by the example of Josef Hlávka. |
