Abstract: This work attempts to describe and compare pension systems in two countries: in Czech Republic and Great Britain.
The first chapter concerns different theoretical approaches to the systems of pension provision. The two following chapters look closely at the pension systems in Czech Republic and Great Britain when the stress is put at the current situation and problems. In the case of Great Britain there is also the history of the system mentioned in the text. Fourth chapter shows the difficulties which come up with an attempt to compare the two systems. It also suggests the possible application of some British experiences on the Czech pension reform.
