The topic of this paper is the debate within the Czech community of economists regarding the privatization process in the Czech republic. The basic motive for my work is to search for the inspiration sources from the different streams of today's economics that stand behind this debate. The first part of my paper concentrates on the programmes and concepts formed before the beginning of the privatization process. The following debate concerning the privatization process is analysed in the second part of the paper. The Czech privatization debate shows similarity with the debate that took place within the international community of economists.
