19/04/2013 - Presentation of Mr. Roland Zsilinszky on the topic of Insight to restructuring practice

 On April 22, 2013 from 6:30 pm to 7:30 pm a presentation of Mr. Roland Zsilinszky from Roland Berger consultancy will take place during the class of JEM100 Corporate Governance in room 314. The topis of the presentation is Insight to restructuring practice. I cordially invite all interested students and academic workers to attend the presentation and the consequent discussion. 11/01/2013 - Student Essay Award - St. Gallen Symposium

Students of master and doctoral programmes have the opportunity to compete in the St. Gallen essay contest and win one of the financial prizes (EUR 20,000 will be divided between 3 winners), but above all the opportunity to participate on the St. Gallen Symposium. The Institute of Economic Studies in cooperation with Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung e.V. in Czech Republic is pleased to invite you on public conference to the topic:

Management of public procurement: how to improve the integrity of public sector?

which will be presented by MAB Bert Baeyens, M.Sc., who is a renown expert on public procurement from Belgium. The lecture will take place on Tuesday May 22 from 11 am in lecture room 314, Institute of Economic Studies, Opletalova 26, Prague 1.

The presentation will be followed by a discussion in English.

03/05/2010 - Guest lecture of Ing. Michal Nebeský, Deputy director of Czech Railways for economics, May 3, 2010

In May 3, 2010 at 6:30 pm in room n. 314 a guest lecture of Ing. Michal Nebeský, Deputy director of the Czech Railways for economics and former member of top management of Citigroup (risk management) will take place - the topic of the lecture will ecompass the experience of Mr. Nebeský with Corporate Governance in Citigroup and in Czech Railways. The lecture will be part of the Corporate Governance course and will be accompanied by presentation of students, however, it is open to both teachers and students including those that are not enrolled to the Corporate Governance course. I am looking forward to meet  you at the lecture and to the inspiring discussion with the lecturers.

09/04/2010 - 12.4.2010 - Invitation to a very interesting lecture given by Mgr. Juraj Alexander,LL.M. on topic: Who Controls a Failed Enterprise or Corporate Governance in Bankruptcy

In April 12, 2010 at 6:30 pm in room 314, a lecture of Mgr. Juraj Alexander, LL.M. (who is currently attorney at the international attorney office Salans and who graduated from the prestigeous Fordham Univeristy School of Law) on a highly interesting topic of insolvency, bankruptcy and corporate governance (presentation name: Who Controls a Failed Enterprise or Corporate Governance in Bankruptcy) will take place. All students and teachers interested in detailed information, both from theory and praxis, on how corporations function in insolvency situations are gladly welcome. The lecture of Mgr. Alexander will be combined with a lecture of students of the JEM100 Corporate Governance course on the topic of Corporate Governance and bankruptcy of Crystalex (an important Czech glass producer).
