Trust and Trustworthiness Among Ex-Combatants in Northern Uganda: Experimental Evidence

Principal investigator: Mgr. Ian Levely
Collaborators: doc. PhDr. Michal Bauer Ph.D.
Description: This project is based on a field experiment run in northern Uganda in July-September 2011. The goal of the experiments is to determine the degree of trust and trustworthiness among and between two groups of individuals: those who have previously been abducted to serve in the Lord’s Resistance Army and those who have not. The results of this experiment will explain to what extent discrimination and trustworthiness play a role in poor labour market outcomes observed among former combatants.
