|Principal investigator:||† prof. Ing. Milan Sojka CSc.|
|Description:||The proposed research project concentrates on the issues of performance of the Czech economy at the macroeconomic and microeconomic levels and tries to compare it with the Eastern and Central European Countries and with selected member countries of the European Union. These issues are considered to be a precondition of utmost importance for a successful integration of the Czech economy into economic structures of the European Union. The Czech Republic is part of the first group of candidate countries and accession to the European union means for the Czech economy many new chances but in the same time it will bring about new challenges and risks which should taken seriously and responded to. The members of the research team will concentrate on some selected issues as the macroeconomic performance in relation to microeconomic performance and competitiveness based on comparative advantages and their development from the traditional to the new ones connected with stress put on the cultivation of human resources, scientific, research and development activities. These problems we consider to be the most important from the perspective of the development of the Czech economy during the preaccession and the postaccession to the Euroean Union period.|
