|Abstract:||The thesis deals with the banking sector in the Czech Republic and its changes which arose during the transition from the forms socialistic centrally planned regime to the developed market system. I examine in detail the ethical behavior of banks. The first part of the thesis analyzes the transition of the banking sector, its step by step restoration in the form of consolidation programs and especially tries to identify the specifics of the Czech banking sector. One chapter is also devoted to the comparative analysis of the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland, which should enlighten the current behavior of the Czech banks. In the second part I analyze the ethics and its application on the banking sector and I use also the findings from the firs part. I deal with the bank – client relationship, however an important role plays the debate about the height of the bank charges. The bank fees are further discussed if they are ethical or not.|
