Abstract: | Diploma thesis is trying to examine the effect of the 2004 tax reform on different sectors of Slovakia’s economy. Attention is focused on foreign direct investment, household consumption and labor market. In case of foreign direct investment positive and negative effects are discussed and main factors of inflow of investment are examined. Household consumption is examined as an important indicator of population standards of living. Consumption is divided into components according to its usage and the evolution of these components is examined. Consumption function is estimated representing the relationship between household consumption and household disposable income. Concerning the labor market attention is devoted to the labor force participation rate. To provide more detailed description of the labor market changes population is divided into groups according to age and sex and labor force participation rate is examined within these groups. |
