The collective investment industry has noted a boom on the czech financial market during the last years and has become a significant type of financial intermediary. This bachelor thesis deals with a historical development of the collective investment industry in the Czech Republic and on the world markets. In the first chapter, a reader gets acquainted with basic principles of collective investment, different models and charakteristic of financial markets.
