|Abstract:||The thesis studies the possibility of a country in development or transition to accept a foreign currency. The goal is to stabilise its own economy. The main studied currency is Euro, partly compared to the USA Dollar as a representative of other currencies.
The thesis is divided in four main sections. Each of these thematic blocks consists of several parts. The first section speaks about the possibilities of accepting a foreign currency, the choice of the currency, and the main effects of such a step. The second one deals with different possibilities, when a country makes this policy step as a member of a group of states. The third block studies other cases for an independent country case. The last one is about other effects up to the choice of the currency, the evolution of its market value, and mentions also the international position of the Euro. Throughout the whole work, the respective different effects on the "accepting country", but also on the EMU as the Euro emitting region are dealt, too.
