Abstract: The work includes brief overview of historical development of the theories of unemployment and discuses unemployment from the point of view of economy, sociology and psychology. Author introduces few models of „Search and Matching Processes“ theory based mainly on the dynamic optimization and one of the models uses for application on the labour market in the Czech Republic. The most important part of the work are creation of new stochastic model using computer simulation of the labour market, analysis of this model and concept of minimal reachable unemployment, based on the algorithms of combinatorial optimization and graph theory. The new model takes into account the heterogenity of workers and jobs not only from the point of view of the wage requests, but also from the point of view of their education and skills and from the point of view of their position in the labour market and workers mobility (ability to move for jobs). At the end the model is applied for the unemployment in the Czech Republic in the second half of nineties of the 20th century and the very beginning of the 21st century.
