Abstract: Free movement of workers is one of the important freedoms of the citizens of European Union. Still the statistics are presenting only low level of labour force migration within particular member states. This papers aims to determine the individual factors influencing the migration of workers and to show on the basis of econometric methods, which factors influence partake in migrants decision-making and how powerful they are. The last part of the paper focuses on the Eastern enlargement of European Union and the possible consequences for the labour markets of current and candidate countries
