MASTER’S DOUBLE-DEGREE PROGRAM WITH SCIENCES PO STRASBOURG 

CSF is a double-degree Master's program provided jointly by the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University and Sciences Po Strasbourg, a highly selective grande école at the University of Strasbourg. Each student spends one academic year at each of the partner Universities. A graduate of the program will receive the Diploma Master in "Corporate Strategy and Finance in Europe" from the University of Strasbourg and the Master's degree Diploma in "Corporate Strategy and Finance in Europe" with the academic title "Magistr" from Charles University. The language of the program is English.

This program provides students with understanding of corporate finance and strategy. To provide in-depth insights into the context in which corporations operate, the program thoroughly introduces into core topics in international macroeconomics, financial markets, and banking. In addition to corporate finance and business strategy courses, the program also trains in advanced data analytical skills and applied econometrics, and provides a variety of related courses in economics and finance (e.g., antitrust economics, corporate governance, private equity, company valuation). Students can also specialize on economic, financial and regulatory issues in specific industries (e.g., banks, energy markets, real estate) or on topics in corporate law and finance (e.g., commercial dispute resolution).

Graduates of the CSF work in analytical, consulting, managerial and other business-related positions in companies and in the financial sector in the EU. In the past 5 years, the graduates have gained jobs in Berlin, Paris, Prague, Luxembourg, and Minneapolis.

Charles University in Prague charges tuition fees for the studies. Students can apply for a number of external scholarships to cover the tuition fees and living expenses.

PROGRAM

To complete the program, the students must (i) collect the prescribed number of ECTS credits, (ii) defend their Master’s Thesis and (iii) pass the final comprehensive examination. Students need to take mandatory courses and seminars at the Charles University in Prague and University of Strasbourg. In addition, the students should collect 20 credits from elective courses.

REQUIREMENTS FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2021/22  

  • compulsory courses at Charles University (3-12 ECTS credits each): 46 credits
  • compulsory courses at University of Strasbourg (6-12 ECTS credits each): 54 credits
  • elective courses (2-6 ECTS credits each) minimum: 20 credits
  • Master´s Thesis
  • Final exam
