Bc. Oliver Škultéty, M.Sc.

I am a PhD student in Economics and Finance at the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University (IES FSV UK). I completed my bachelor's degree in Economics at IES FSV UK and an MSc in Statistics at ETH Zurich. My research focuses on firm behavior in response to the tax system and estimating the effects of government policies. Currently, I am estimating the elasticity of corporate taxable income with respect to the tax burden using bunching methods. Additionally, I am also studying, for example, the effect of accelerated corporate depreciation on firm investment.

Contributions in the conference proceedings

Bachelor's theses: I specialize in Public Finance, Microeconometrics, and causal methods using structural equations. I would be happy to supervise theses focused on these fields or on the application of advanced econometrics or machine learning in economics. I prefer topics focused on estimating the effects of government intervention, but please do not hesitate to contact me if you are interested in any topic that is more challenging from a data analysis standpoint.
