Jozef Baruník Appointed to the Evaluation Panel of Prestigious European ERC Grants

Our colleague, doc. Jozef Baruník, was the only representative of the Czech Republic as a member of the SH1 evaluation panel within the ERC Consolidator Grants call in 2024. 

The European Research Council (ERC) is the top European body that supports pioneering research by the most ambitious and talented researchers in Europe, helping to push the frontiers of knowledge and innovation and transform science and society. ERC grants are considered elite because they combine exclusivity, scale and intellectual freedom. The selection process is highly competitive - applicants compete with the best scientists from all over Europe, which brings great prestige to successful applicants and their home institutions. Membership in the ERC evaluation panel is offered only to scientists with a significant international reputation and professional excellence in their field. 

Participation in the SH1 panel (focused on economics, finance and management) together with 15 other leading world experts, assessing hundreds of top project proposals, is not only a recognition of doc. Baruník's international scientific reputation on a personal level, but also a confirmation of the high quality of research carried out at the Institute of Economic Studies and at Charles University.
