At the end of November, the 13th biennial conference of the Czech Economic Society took place, during which its traditional awards were presented. The "Karel Engliš Prize" for the best paper on Czech economic policy was presented to IES PhD candidate Tereza Veselá and the "Kateřina Šmídková Award," recognizing female economists with exceptionally high-quality publication activity, was presented to IES alumna Jana Cahlíková. Congratulations!

On November 30, 2023, the General Assembly of the Czech Economic Society took place, during which the Young Economist of the Year Award, the Karel Engliš Prize and the CES President's Award for authors aged 25 years or younger were also presented. We are delighted that two of these awards were won by our alumni - congratulations on your success!

He has received it for his exceptionally beneficial master thesis on "Machine Learning Methods in Payment Card Fraud Detection." The Award was presented during the Mastercard Bank of the Year 2023 gala evening. Congratulations!
