Our colleague Miroslav Palanský is the main organizer of the workshop "Unlocking the Potential of Tax Administrative Data for Tax Abuse Research" within the DemoTrans project, which will bring international tax experts to Prague on December 16 and 17, 2025, and present a database of newly available data that will be beneficial for researchers, institutions, public administration, and policymakers.

The Chamber of Deputies has appointed Professor Luboš Komárek — a long-standing expert of the Czech National Bank and an academic affiliated with our Institute of Economic Studies — as a new member of the three-member Czech Fiscal Council. Congratulations!

On Thursday, 27 November 2025, the General Assembly of the Czech Economic Society took place, during which the awards for Young Economist of the Year for economists under 30, the Karel Engliš Prize, and the President’s Commendation of the CES for authors under 25 were also presented. We are pleased that many of these awards were received by students or alumni of our Institute.
