The International Office has announced an Erasmus+ Call for Applications for study stays abroad in the academic year 2026/2027 and is organizing a meeting for students on February 2, 2026, in Jinonice. -
Study at Epoka University in Albania with Erasmus+ support
We announce a call for applications for one bachelor’s student to undertake a semester-long study stay at Epoka University in Albania in the 2026/2027 academic year. The application deadline is February 20, 2026. -

Review of Accounting Studies, one of the leading journals in Business and Finance, recently published corporate governance research by Martin Gregor. The journal is the highest-ranked outlet in the field of Business and Finance that has ever published research carried out at IES. -
Miroslav Palanský organizes an international workshop presenting new data supporting tax abuse research
Our colleague Miroslav Palanský is the main organizer of the workshop "Unlocking the Potential of Tax Administrative Data for Tax Abuse Research" within the DemoTrans project, which will bring international tax experts to Prague on December 16 and 17, 2025, and present a database of newly available data that will be beneficial for researchers, institutions, public administration, and policymakers. -
Professor Kočenda published an article in the Energy Economics
The prestigious journal Energy Economics published an article Geopolitical risk and extreme spillovers among oil-based energy commodities co-authored by our colleague, Professor Evžen Kočenda.

Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle
The main goal of the IES students' club E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any.
As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. -
Study abroad
Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

Become a member of the Alumni group!
The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
