Apply for student grants for WS 2025
The Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, announces the deadline for submitting applications for student grants for the winter semester of 2025. The deadline for applications is 6th of October at 23:59. Applicants will present their projects on 13th of October at 17:00. -
IES Director presented the Awards for Distinguished Master’s and Bachelor’s Theses in September 2025
The IES Director's Award for Distinguished Master’s and Bachelor’s Theses has been awarded since the beginning of 2024 at the occasion of each Bachelor's and Master's Final State Exams. These are organized as a thesis defense with a follow-up general discussion on the thesis topic and are held three times a year - usually in January, June and September. -
FSV UK Academic Senate nominated a candidate for the position of CU Rector
Prof. Ladislav Krištoufek was nominated as a candidate for the position of Rector of Charles University at a meeting of the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University. The election of the candidate for the period 2026–2030 will take place on 31 October 2025 at a meeting of the Academic Senate of Charles University. -
CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge 2025
The Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Institute organizes an international student competition in company valuation. Teams of 3-5 students are assigned a mentor, a CFA charter-holder with extensive business experience. Winners proceed to the European and global rounds. Apply by October 16, 2025. -
Autumn Call for Rector's Mobility Fund Now Open!
The International Office announces that you can apply for funding from the Rector's Mobility Fund. This fund aims to support study stays within the framework of inter-faculty and inter-university agreements. Additionally, students traveling as free movers and Ph.D. students undertaking research stays abroad are also eligible for support. -

Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle
The main goal of the IES students' club E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any.
As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. -
Study abroad
Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

Become a member of the Alumni group!
The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
