  • Dot Awards 2024

    On October 9, 2024, the awards ceremony for the Deloitte Outstanding Thesis Award (DOT Award) took place. This award, designated for exceptionally high-quality and outstanding Bachelor's and Master's theses written by IES students, has been granted since 2018 based on the partnership between IES and Deloitte.   • Research seminar: Jan Feld (Victoria University of Wellington)

    We would like to invite you to a research seminar by Jan Feld, Senior Lecturer (Associate Professor) at Victoria University of Wellington, who will present his paper "On the Generalizability of Sex-Differences in Risk Attitudes". The seminar will take place on Tuesday, October 22, in Room 601 at 12:30.

  • Elections to the FSV UK Academic Senate and UK Academic Senate

    At its meeting on 8 October 2024, the FSV UK Academic Senate announced elections for the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, for the 2025–2027 term. It also announced the date of elections for the Academic Senate of Charles University for the 2025–2028 term. Both elections will be held electronically from 26 to 28 November 2024.
  • CFA Institute Investment Research Challenge 2024/2025

    The CFA Institute organizes an international student competition in company valuation. Teams of 3-5 students are assigned a mentor, a CFA charter-holder with extensive business experience. Winners proceed to the European and global rounds. Learn more at the kick-off presentation on October 9, 2024 and apply by October 17, 2024!

  • Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle

    The main goal of the IES students' club  E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any. 
    As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. 

  • Study abroad

    Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

  • Become a member of the Alumni group!

    The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
