The Czech Academy of Sciences awarded Michal Bauer with the title “Doctor of Science” (DSc.)
Eleven scientists received their diplomas and the scientific title "Doctor of Science" on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 in the auditorium of the Library of the Academy of Sciences of the Czech Republic.
Since 2003, the Academy has been awarding the scientific title "Doctor of Science" (DSc.) to scientists as an expression of their particularly high scientific qualifications demonstrated by the creation of serious, scientifically original works important for the development of research in a particular field and demonstrating a distinct scientific personality. The scientific title is awarded by the Academy on the basis of a decision of its Scientific Council. The title "Doctor of Science" currently represents the highest scientific qualification in the professional career of a scientist in the Czech Republic.
We are therefore happy to announce that our colleague Michal Bauer, an expert in behavioral economics, development economics and experimental economics, is among the awardees. His research explores how economic and psychological factors influence decision-making. His works have resonated abroad and have been published not only by international economic journals with a high impact factor, but also by the highly prestigious scientific journal Nature.
In the field of economics, Prof. Štěpán Jurajda from CERGE-EI also received a DSc.
Congratulations!
