Professor Petr Janský has secured the prestigious GA ČR EXPRO grant.

The Czech Science Foundation (GA ČR) will support 15 EXPRO projects and 19 JUNIOR STAR projects starting next year. The goal of these competitions is to provide exceptional conditions for outstanding researchers, who are carefully selected by international experts. JUNIOR STAR grants are designed to help early-career scientists establish their own research teams, while EXPRO grants enable experienced researchers to pursue high-risk projects with the potential for groundbreaking discoveries. These grants aim to foster excellent research, set benchmarks for scientific excellence, and increase the chances of success in the highly prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grant competition.

We are delighted that our colleague, Prof. Petr Janský, succeeded in the highly competitive EXPRO category with his project "MINITAX: Global Minimum Taxation and Multinational Corporate Investment." The project, which will run from 2025 to 2029 with a total budget of CZK 50 million, is the first at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Charles University to win this award since the program's inception in 2019.

"I will leverage a combination of three innovations in reforms, data, and measurement to determine the impact of global minimum taxes on multinational corporate investments and provide new insights to inform government decision-making on taxation and investment," Prof. Janský explains the project's objectives.

Congratulations on securing this highly selective grant, and we wish you great success in your research!
