Elections to the FSV UK Academic Senate and UK Academic Senate
At its meeting on 8 October 2024, the FSV UK Academic Senate announced elections for the Academic Senate of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University, for the 2025–2027 term. It also announced the date of elections for the Academic Senate of Charles University for the 2025–2028 term. Both elections will be held electronically from 26 to 28 November 2024. -
Compact Courses in January 2025
During January 2025 we will be offering two compact courses that will be run in a “block” format, i.e. delivered over 2-3 days. Both courses will count into the Winter Semester 2024/25 and are already open for registration, whereby they will stay open for registration until (and including) the first day of the course. -
Professor Ladislav Krištoufek received state honour
Professor Ladislav Krištoufek, our colleague and Charles University Vice-Rector for Research, received a Medal of Merit in the Field of Science - from Czech President Petr Pavel at Prague Castle on October 28, 2024. Congratulations! -
Research seminar: Eddie Gerba (Bank of England)
We would like to invite you to a research seminar by Eddie Gerba, Head of Research for the Prudential Regulation Authority at the Bank of England, called "Who's The Boss? ACCA Presentation for IES Students
Take advantage of the benefits of cooperation between ACCA and IES FSV UK. IES students can benefit from an additional exemption from the module of Financial Management in the ACCA program. ACCA representatives will come to present the ACCA Accelerate program for IES students on Monday, November 4, at 2 p.m. in room 109.

Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle
The main goal of the IES students' club E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any.
As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. -
Study abroad
Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

Become a member of the Alumni group!
The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
