31st Young Economist of the Year Award - applications are open!
The Czech Economic Society has been awarding The Young Economist Award to economists under 30 years of age who register for the competition by submitting their original, professional papers. In the past, the works of our students and graduates have repeatedly succeeded in this competition. Will yours be among them this year? The deadline for submissions is October 8, 2024. -

The Rector of Charles University has announced the 31st annual Bolzano Award competition. You can submit your outstanding works that were completed (published and/or defended) in the 2023/2024 academic year. The application deadline is October 31, 2024. -
Miroslav Palanský has brought the IIPF congress to Prague, CORPTAX researchers are presenting their latest findings
Our colleague Miroslav Palanský is among the main organizers of the International Institute of Public Finance Congress, which takes place in Prague this year. The largest (and for our project CORPTAX the most relevant) gathering of public finance economists will see many renowned economists coming to Prague from August 21-23, 2024. -

IES student Kateřina Švíková Finishes 9th in Windsurfing at Paris Olympic Games
Kateřina Švíková represented Czechia at the Olympic Games in Paris this August. She finished 9th in Windsurfing. During the her time in Paris she talked with UK Forum about the adrenaline rush of flying at high speed over the water.

Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle
The main goal of the IES students' club E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any.
As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. -
Study abroad
Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

Become a member of the Alumni group!
The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
