CIOS V4 Workshop 2026: Finance, Innovation, and Inequality
We would like to invite you to a research workshop organized by our Center for Inequality and Open Society (CIOS). The research presented during the workshop will focus on the challenges posed by inequality in the context of the green transition. The prestigious journal Nature Communications published an article Views of EU citizens on economic growth and implications for climate policy co-authored by our colleague Milan Ščasný. -
Project from Institute of Economic Studies succeeds in the Primus competition
A project from Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences, succeeded in the Primus university competition. The successful applicant is German economist Jakob Miethe, currently an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics at Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU). Thanks to the Primus grant, he will join us at IES FSV UK, where he will lead the project about International Ownership Structures. Congratulations! -
Czech Journal of Economics and Finance Enters a New Era with a New Editor-in-Chief, Editorial Team, and Website
Our scientific journal, the Czech Journal of Economics and Finance (formerly Finance a úvěr), is moving to its new chapter. Simona Malovaná has been appointed the new Managing Editor. She is affiliated with the Institute of Economic Studies at Charles University’s Faculty of Social Sciences and also serves as the Director of Research and Statistics Department at the Czech National Bank. She will be joined by Jiří Kukačka from the Institute of Economic Studies and Martin Hodula from the Czech National Bank as co-editors. -
IES researchers publish in the prestigious journal Nature
Researchers from the Institute of Economic Studies of the Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University – Prof. Zuzana Havránková, Prof. Tomáš Havránek and Dr. Jaromír Baxa – participated in a study published in the prestigious journal Nature. They are building on the success from 2022, when FSV UK economists published in this journal for the first time.
