prg․ai Minor is reopening its doors to all AI enthusiasts
A unique collaboration between top lecturers from four faculties of Univerzita Karlova (Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, Faculty of Social Sciences, Charles University) and České vysoké učení technické v Praze (Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Czech Technical University in Prague, Faculty of Information Technology CTU in Prague) in an inter-university program. Applications are open until March 22, 2026. -

Student ombudspeople elections will take place from 3 to 4 March 2026
After the submission of nominations, elections for the positions of student ombudspeople at the Institute of Economic Studies will take place. The elections will take place online from 3 March 2026 at 9:00 am to 4 March 2026 at 3:00 pm. IES students will receive a voting voucher in their e-mail inboxes on election day. -
Interview with Fan Yang, our alumna and MEF ambassador
Fan Yang, born in China, is currently an assistant professor at the University of Economics in Prague. She earned her bachelor’s degree at Dongbei University of Finance and Economics in China, her master’s degree at the University of Delaware in the US, and her doctoral degree at IES in 2024. Since 2025, she has served as an ambassador for the IES MEF program, helping to guide and inspire prospective students. -

Join the activities of student clubs E-klub and FSV UK Circle
The main goal of the IES students' club E-Klub is the positive development of scientific and social life at Charles University. It acts as a link between the IES management and its students. Currently, the E-Klub focuses on organizing lectures and a wide range of cultural or sporting events for IES students. Follow them on Facebook and Instagram not to miss any.
As an international student, you should also check out the recently established club for international students, called FSV UK Circle. -
Study abroad
Take the opportunity to study abroad! Erasmus+ is not the only option: Inter-university agreements and inter-faculty agreements provide many study-abroad opportunities; students may also study abroad with CEEPUS (eastern and central Europe). Alternatively, students may undertake an individual exchange as a freemover, if they organize the exchange by themselves.

Become a member of the Alumni group!
The Alumni Association has been operating since 1997 as a voluntary association of graduates of the Institute of Economic Studies, Faculty of Social Sciences at the Charles University (IES FSV UK). The main tasks of the Alumni are organizing annual meetings (Banquets) of members and supporters of the Alumni, distinguished guests and sponsors of the Association, raising funds and providing other means of support for IES FSV UK.
